Introducing Nursing Nexus: Why Nursing Nexus?
The inspiration for this endeavor started several years ago through my interactions with nurse authors, journal editors, and publishers. It grew while watching the landscape of discourse in our professional publications change and evolve over time. There is a need for a free and fair exchange of ideas about topics that impact nurses and nursing, and there are many, many topics and issues that impact us.
Our website provides an opportunity for nurses and those with an interest in nursing to present content that is evidence-based and that focuses on a collaborative exchange of viewpoints. Because current topics are based on prior events (history) and are impacted by organizational and/or governmental standards (policy), the focus at Nursing Nexus will be on topics that incorporate a historical perspective, a policy perspective, or both.
We will publish peer-reviewed and editorial content that reflects the principles of diplomacy. By using the skills of diplomacy, we build more effective communication, stronger relationships, and successful solutions. We seek content from any viewpoint that:
• Provides education and evidence
• Expresses the interests of the author
• Explores common ground
• Respects divergent viewpoints
Nurses are known for crossing boundaries to engage, understand, and heal. It is our goal to ensure we can do that with each other in the spirit of collegiality. Welcome to Nursing Nexus, Kim Curry, PhD, MBA, FNP-C, FAANP.
